Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

Ste Foy, Quebec: The Quebec Kebekwa rallied from a twenty point first quarter deficit to overcome the Cape Cod Frenzy 123-113.

The Frenzy started strong from the opening tip. Scott Hazelton's three pointer from the corner gave Cape Cod a 13-2 lead. Two three pointers by Rashid Al-Kaleem sandwiched around a finger roll by Jamaal Brooks, pushed the Frenzy lead to 33-13. The Kebs made a few plays to close the first quarter at 37-20.

Quebec's full court press started to give the Frenzy guards fits. At the same time Charles Fortier and Mannix Auriantal got hot from three point land. The Kebekwa went on a 29-8 run to take a 49-45 lead on a four point shot off a 3-D steal. However, Cape Cod regrouped behind Scott Hazelton's 20 first half points to lead 63-57 at the break.

In the third, the Frenzy continued to have problems with the Kebs' press, and Quebec got their first lead of the game at 71-70. Mannix Auriantal stayed hot from the perimeter and the Kebs extended their lead to nine, 93-84, at the end of the quarter.

In the final stanza, the Frenzy made runs at Quebec in an effort to get back in the game, but Quebec made some key plays, and former Frenzy guard Jermaine Watson made 12 of 15 free throws down the stretch.

The Frenzy were led by Scott Hazelton's 29 points, and ABA All Star forward Rob Sanders' 28 points, 20 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots. Rashid Al-Kaleem chipped in 20 points.
