KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Current have acquired the Orlando Pride's natural second round draft pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft, along with $75,000 in allocation money. In exchange, the Pride will receive forward Darian Jenkins.
"Darian was a very important part of our inaugural season and one of the hardest workers on the field," said Huw Williams, Director of Soccer Operations. "We wish her nothing but the best in her future."
Jenkins came to Kansas City prior to the 2021 season through a trade with OL Reign. She made 22 appearances for KC in the regular season, starting in 18 games and scoring three goals.
The Kansas City Current kicks off preseason for the 2022 season on February 1. Matches begin on March 19 as a part of the NWSL Challenge Cup. For tickets and information, visit KansasCityCurrent.com.
