Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are pleased to announce the re-signing of Defensive Coordinator Kavis Reed. Reed will return for his second season in Hamilton.

"Kavis, definitely is one of the best young coaching minds in the CFL," said Ticats head coach Greg Marshall. "We are excited to have him back for the 2005 season."

The Georgetown, South Carolina native began his coaching career in 2001 with the Toronto Argonauts as their Defensive Backs Coach. After leaving Toronto, Reed spent two seasons with the Ottawa Renegades as Defensive Backs Coach and also held the title of Special Teams Coordinator during the 2003 season.

"I'm thrilled to return to the Tiger-Cats," said Reed. "We have a great group of guys here in Hamilton and we are looking to build on the success from last season."

Reed joined the CFL as a player in 1995, signing with the Edmonton Eskimos as a defensive back. He concluded his playing career during training camp in 2000 due to injury. Reed shares the Eskimos' career record and is tied for third on the CFL's career list with five interceptions for touchdowns.
