Nashville Kats News Release

NASHVILLE (Feb. 7, 2006) - Just a week after Frank Carter was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week, the Nashville Kats have had another player honored by the Arena Football League. Wide receiver/defensive back Cornelius Bonner has been named AFL Ironman of the Week for his superb all-around play in last week's 53-27 win over Columbus.

Bonner (6-0, 190) is in his sixth AFL season and first with Nashville. He hauled in five catches for 51 yards and two touchdowns and added three tackles and a pass break-up on defense in last Friday's win. Bonner has not missed a game in three seasons.

The veteran from Cincinnati was signed as a free agent from Las Vegas during the offseason, and was thrust into a starting role after Jarrick Hillery dislocated his elbow in the season opener.

Bonner joined Dallas WR/LB Terrill Shaw (Offensive Player of the Week) and Austin's Damon Mason (ADT Defensive Player of the Week) as players of the week for last weekend's games.
