
Karlander returns to Griffins

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Thursday signed center Kory Karlander to a professional tryout.
Karlander, 33, had played for Grand Rapids all season before being released on March 17. After posting three points (1-2â3) in 35 games with the Griffins, he has since contributed five assists in six games for the Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League.
Karlander, who has totaled 64 points (25-39â64) in 168 games over parts of four seasons with Grand Rapids, is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Griffins host the Cleveland Barons at 7 p.m.
