Kappelhof, McCarty Earn MLS Team of the Week Nods
Published on March 13, 2017 under Major League Soccer (MLS)
Chicago Fire FC News Release
Two Chicago Fire players featured in the latest edition of the MLS Team of the Week after their performances in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake in the 2017 home opener.
Midfielder Dax McCarty -- voted the #CHIvRSL Krakus Man of the Match -- earned a spot in the TOTW midfield after playing a vital ball in the buildup to Nemanja Nikolic's opening goal and for his overall play as the engine in the Fire midfield. Additionally, defender Johan Kappelhof received high praise for his effort as the steadying force for a Fire backline that was under consistent pressure against a Real Salt Lake side attempting to fight back from a 2-0 deficit.
