Kansas City NWSL Releases Full 2021 Regular Season Schedule

KANSAS CITY - Kansas City NWSL released the team's full 2021 regular season schedule today. The team will play 24 matches in its inaugural season, including 12 at home, from May through October 2021.

The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) 2021 schedule features 10 teams playing in a single table format. Full broadcast details will announced at a later date.

The regular season kicks off with Kansas City visiting the league's other expansion side, Racing Louisville, on Saturday, May 15 at 4:00 p.m. CT. This is one of two trips the team will make to the Derby City, with a second game scheduled for Aug. 8 at 2:00 p.m. CT.

Kansas City's Inaugural Regular Season Home Opener will be Wednesday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. CT when the team faces off against Julie Ertz and the Chicago Red Stars at Legends Field.

Each team in the NWSL will visit Kansas City at least once, with the Houston Dash (June 6, Oct. 2), North Carolina Courage (July 23, Sep. 5) and OL Reign (Aug. 14, Oct. 30) making two trips each to Legends Field.

Likewise, Kansas City will travel to each NWSL city throughout the season, making two stops against Chicago (Aug. 28, Oct. 16), Portland Thorns FC (June 20, Aug. 1) and Louisville (May 15, Aug. 8).

The home match against OL Reign on Oct. 30 marks the end of the team's Inaugural Regular Season. This season's playoff format will see the top six teams in the standings advance to the NWSL Playoffs, with the top two teams receiving a bye in the first round. The 2021 NWSL Championship closes out the season on Nov. 20.
