
Kansas City Explorers Have Strong Wimbledon Showing

Kansas City, MO (July 1, 2008) - The Kansas City Explorers look to have a bright 2008 season with four players making it into the second week of Wimbledon doubles action.
"It's exciting to see so many of our players in the late rounds of Wimbledon. I am proud to represent such a successful group of athletes and to give Kansas City fans a chance to watch high quality tennis."
As of July 1st, the number one seeded Bryan Brothers have reached the semifinals and will play the eighth seeded team Bjorkman/ Ullyett. Women's team Keveta Peshke and Rennae Stubbs made it to the round of 16, but were defeated after a tight second set tie-breaker by Raymand/ Stosur. Both Bryan brothers and Kveta Peshke are still in mixed doubles.
The Explorers first home match will begin July 9th against the Springfield Lasers. All matches will be held at M&I Bank Stadium at Barney Allis Plaza in downtown Kansas City at 12th and Wyandotte.
