Kansas City Current News Release
KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Current announced today an innovative agreement for a multi-year partnership with YETI, the leading premium outdoor brand best known for its iconic coolers, drinkware, and outdoor equipment. This landmark partnership between two world-class brands marks YETI's formal entry into the landscape of women's professional soccer. The YETI core mission is to deliver exceptional performance and durability in any environment, much like KC Current's core value of delivering an exceptional fan and player experience in the first stadium purpose-built for a women's professional team in the world.
"We are thrilled to partner with YETI, which has established itself as an American icon," said Current co-owners Angie and Chris Long. "YETI is a revolutionary brand with passionate supporters that embody the creative spirit often found in soccer across the globe and here in Kansas City, the Soccer Capital of America. We are ecstatic to partner with a brand that is as eager as we are to kick off this historic journey."
YETI and KC Current will proudly team up to outfit all players with unique and exclusive YETI gear, including the brand's signature drinkware to help the team stay hydrated and performing at their best, while also reducing single-use plastic.
"We are proud to partner with the Kansas City Current and support women's soccer at the world's first stadium built specifically for a women's professional sports team," said Matt Reintjes, CEO for YETI. "We are thrilled to bring our premium drinkware to help Current athletes stay hydrated and support the fans and community by making CPKC Stadium more sustainable through the elimination of single-use plastic."
The partnership with YETI, a brand deeply rooted in conservation and supporting outdoor lifestyles, aligns with CPKC Stadium's core value of sustainability. YETI's mission is rooted in a passion for pursuits in the wild while protecting our natural resources. YETI's partnerships, sponsorships, and product donations support conservation, restoration, and community resilience initiatives. At CPKC Stadium we have a commitment to creating a stadium and an operating philosophy that is environmentally responsible, community-focused, and supportive of women's soccer as a growing movement.
YETI products will be available for fans to purchase inside the stadium during the season, and the stadium will be outfitted with additional YETI products.
