Kansas City Current News Release
KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Current is proud to announce J. Rieger & Co. as a partner for the 2023 season.
KC Current and J. Rieger will host several events for KC Current season ticket members throughout the year at their 70,000 sq. foot distillery's campus in Kansas City, just one mile from the stadium. They will continue to collaborate and innovate on unique projects like the Heartland Highball cocktail developed for the KC Current Stadium Groundbreaking. In addition, as a new partner J. Rieger will also receive official partner status, use of marks, in-game signage, hospitality, social posts and more.
"Providing our fans with an exceptional food, beverage and hospitality experience is a top priority for the Current, so we are thrilled to work with J. Rieger & Co.," said team president Allison Howard. "They are an iconic Kansas City brand, from their deep roots in our history to their beautiful distillery near the Riverfront. We are elated to welcome them to the team."
J. Rieger & Co. has a long history in Kansas City, originally founded in 1887 until shutting down due to federal prohibition laws. In 2014, Andy Rieger re-opened his great-great-great grandfather's distillery in partnership with Ryan Maybee, a career bartender and restauranteur. The brand's classic Kansas City Whiskey was named a Top 4 for International Best New Spirit or Cocktail Ingredient at the 2015 Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.
"We're very excited to start what is hopefully a long partnership with the Current," said J. Rieger and Co. President Andy Rieger. "We instantly aligned with their vision for the new stadium and can't wait to welcome them to the Electric Park neighborhood."
