KANSAS CITY - Kansas City NWSL has signed Argentine soccer player Mariana Larroquette to a two-year deal ahead of the 2021 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) season. Larroquette joins Kansas City from Lyn Club of Norway and the Argentine National Team.

The 28-year-old forward from Buenos Aires, Argentina, has represented her home country at the 2008 and 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cups. Larroquette was also a member of Argentina's National Team at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup where she was part of the team's exciting 3-3 comeback against Scotland and her new KC teammate, Rachel Corsie.

"Whether it's on or off the field, our goal is to bring talented people together to create something special," said KC NWSL Head Coach Huw Williams. "Mariana is a talented player who competes creatively and tenaciously. We are happy to sign Mariana as our team's first-ever free agent."

Larroquette's experience includes stints with River Plate of Argentina (five years), Universidad de Chile in Santiago (two years) and UAI Urquiza in Buenas Aires (three years).

In agreeing to terms, Larroquette becomes the first international signing for Kansas City.
