
Kalamazoo Baseball LLC to kick things off with #NameYourTeam contest

Kalamazoo Baseball LLC, the management group of Kalamazoo's new baseball team, is launching their website and a #NameYourTeam campaign on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. From September 4-20th, the Northwoods League's newest expansion franchise is challenging Kalamazoo and surrounding community residents to come up with the best name for the team.
Fans can submit their team name suggestions on Kalamazoo Baseball's new website www.kzoobaseball.com . All official submissions must be submitted via the website. Fans can also double their chances to win prizes by following Kalamazoo Baseball on Twitter (@KZooBaseball) and tweeting their team name to #NameYourTeam.
Participants will be entered to win various prizes including:
1. 50 winners will receive (2) tickets to the 2014 home opener.
2. 25 winners will receive official Kalamazoo Baseball caps.
3. If your suggestion makes it to final five, you'll receive five (5) tickets to the 2014 home opener on the all-inclusive Party Deck and five (5) official Kalamazoo Baseball hats.
4. The grand prize winner will win SEASON TICKETS FOR LIFE along with an authentic jersey, official game hat, and the honor of throwing out the 1st pitch at the home opener.
After September 20th, the top five (5) submissions will be selected by the Kalamazoo Baseball management team and be put online for fans to vote on and give input into the final decision.

Kalamazoo Baseball LLC is a member of the Northwoods League, which is North America's premier summer baseball league for elite college players. The Northwoods League that has more teams (18), plays more games (70), and draws more fans (932,245) than any other summer collegiate league in North America. All players in the league must have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate. Each team operates similar to a professional minor league team, using wooden bats, minor league specification baseballs, experiencing overnight road trips, and playing nightly before thousands of fans. 110 Northwoods League Alumni have made it to the Major Leagues and 150 Northwoods League alumni were selected in the 2013 MLB Draft alone.
