K-tribe final...sort of...

June 2, 2006 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Kinston Indians News Release

Friday nights game between Kinston and Frederick was halted in the bottom of the seventh inning, with the score tied at seven, because of lightning and storms in the area. The two teams will pick up the game Saturday at 5:30pm in Frederick, Maryland. After the game is complete they will play Saturday's regularly scheduled, game three of the series thirty minutes afterwords.

The storms halted a back and forth battle between the two teams. Kinston, down 5-0 in the third, came roaring back in the top of the inning. A two RBI single by Argenis Reyes brought Matt Whitney and Micah Schilling around to score cutting the Frederick lead to three. Brandon Pinckney drove home Reyes one batter later, with a sacrifice fly making the score 5-3.

The K-Tribe took the lead in the top of the fifth inning, when Pinckney mashed a double to the wall in left-center field, scoring Schilling and Reyes. With the score tied at five, Barton broke the tie later in the inning with a two run homer, his team leading seventh of the season.

Frederick would even the score at seven with a Nolan Reimold two run homer, in the bottom of the sixth inning. After the K-Tribe failed to score in the top of the seventh, play was halted before the bottom of the inning got underway.

Morgan Clendenin will be up to bat for the Keys with the score tied at seven, in the bottom of the seventh when play resumes tomorrow at 5:30pm. Game three of the series will follow thirty minutes after the completion of game two.
