Juniors Take Second Straight

Montreal, November 8th - The Montreal Juniors earned their second consecutive win as they defeated the Quebec Remparts by the score of 5 to 2. The Juniors took the lead in the first period and never looked back. Forwards Louis-Marc Aubry and Trevor Parkes led the way with two goals each while winger Pier-Antoine Dion also had a goal and an assist. Goaltender Jake Allen was excellent in the victory as he stopped 29 shots.

Midway through the first, the Juniors took the lead when forward Louis-Marc Aubry scored the only goal of the period as he tapped in the rebound for his third of the year from Pier-Antoine Dion and Alex Wall. Montreal outplayed Quebec in the second as the Juniors added two more goals and outshot the opponent 17 to 7. Just five minutes into second, winger Pier-Antoine Dion scored his seventh of the season from Nicolas Chouinard and Louis-Marc Aubry. Montreal stretched the lead to three goals when Juniors leading scorer Trevor Parkes put the puck through Remparts goaltender Jean-Philippe Gagnon's pads for his twelfth of the year on the power play at 10:09. Guillaume Asselin and Alex Wall were on the helpers. That goal concluded Jean-Philippe Gagnon's day as he was replaced by Eric Bourdon.

The game got tighter in the third. The Remparts took advantage on the 5 on 3 power play when forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand put the loose puck into the net at 1:01 from Ryan Bourque and Danick Paquette. Remparts winger Ryan Bourque cut the deficit to one when he scored on the rebound chance from Marc-Olivier Vallerand's shot at 8:53. The Juniors put the game away when Trevor Parkes and Louis-Marc Aubry added the two empty netters towards the end of the game. The Juniors beat the Remparts by the final score of 5 to 2.

St. Louis Blue's prospect and Juniors goalie Jake Allen was superb in the victory as he made 29 saves. Remparts goalie Jean-Philippe Gagnon gave up 3 goals on 26 shots and was handed the loss. His replacement Eric Bourdon made all 11 saves. The Juniors are now to 11-9-0-1 while the Remparts fall to 14-4-2-3.

Montreal Juniors will conclude this four-game homestand against top ranked Drummondville Voltigeurs, on Tuesday at 7:35PM. Then, the Juniors will go on a short two-game roadtrip. They will take on Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on November 13th and Val-d'Or Foreurs on November 14th. The Juniors will return to Montreal on Friday, November 20th as they take on the Halifax Mooseheads.

Pour la deuxi=E8me fois de la saison, le Junior de Montréal accueillait, dimanche apr=E8s-midi, les

Remparts de Québec

=E0 l'Auditorium de Verdun alors que l'équipe montréalaise rendait hommage =E0 une grande légende du hockey, Raymond Bourque. L'organisation a également profité de la semaine des anciens combattants pour souligner la contribution et le dévouement de ceux-ci lors de la seconde guerre mondiale. Ensuite, les hommes de Patrick Roy embarquaient sur la glace en

vue d'obtenir une premi=E8re victoire en trois matchs tandis que ceux de Pascal Vincent misaient sur leur troisi=E8me gain consécutif. C'est finalement par la marque de

5 =E0 2

que le Junior de Montréal l'a emporté en ce match de confrontation.

Le Junior est la seule équipe =E0 s'inscrire au tableau en premi=E8re période. C'est donc le défenseur Louis-Marc Aubry qui ouvre la marque apr=E8s 11 minutes de jeu.

Au deuxi=E8me tiers, le Junior s'illustre de nouveau en déjouant =E0 deux reprises le cerb=E8re des Remparts. Le vétéran Pier-Antoine Dion a été le premier =E0 trouver le fond du filet alors que son acolyte Trevor Parkes profite d'un avantage numérique pour inscrire son 12e de la saison.

La troisi=E8me s'est avérée plus profitable pour les Remparts qui ont tout donné pour prendre le dessus sur Montréal. Vallerand marque le premier des siens =E0 la premi=E8re minute de jeu pendant que Genest reposait au cachot. C'est ensuite le fils de l'ic=F4ne de la soirée, Ryan Bourque, qui marque le second but de l'équipe. Ce ne f=FBt cependant pas assez pour les hommes de Roy pour l'emporter sur le Junior. C'est Parkes et Aubry qui mettent un terme =E0 la partie en enfilant leurs deuxi=E8mes alors qu'il restait moins que deux minutes au match.
