
Juniors Shut out Gatineau

The Montreal Juniors shut out the Gatineau Olympiques in a critical division game on Sunday at the Verdun Auditorium by the score of 2-0. The win vaults the Juniors into second place in the QMJHL.
The Montreal offense was led by Louis Leblanc who had a goal and an assist. Charles Landry chipped in a power play goal with 5:29 left to seal the victory for the Juniors.
J-F Berube picked up his first shutout of the season, turning aside all 26 shots fired his way by Gatineau. Francois Lacerte took the loss in the Gatineau net, stopping 25 of 27 Montreal shots.
NOTES: Montreal hits the road for their second Maritime swing. They play in Bathurst on Wednesday, PEI on Thursday and back to back games against Cape Breton on Saturday and Sunday. Montreal plays it's next home game on February 8th, when they host Lewiston in a day game for students from various schools in the Montreal area.
