Montreal Juniors News Release
CENTRE ROBERT-GUERTIN, November 13, 2010 - Goalie Maxime Clermont, of the Gatineau's Olympics, did the trick, while kicking away 28 pucks, and the surprise of the day came from the Outaouais region when the local club beat the Montral Juniors 2-1.
The Juniors lost first time since the 17th of October when Val D'Or beat them in Verdun. Montral went on to win eight consecutive games before this loss. With this surprising defeat, Montreal's record dropped to 15-4-2-1 while Gatineau upgrades theirs to 12-7-1-2.
Alex Micallef scored the Junior's first and only goal of the game while pushing the puck behind the goal line for his second of the year, at 9:57 of the third period. Denis Kindl got an assist.
The Olympics gave themselves a two goal lead almost at the end of the second period, at 16:13, when Alex Noel scored his third goal of the season. Noel did the trick when he converted a well executed pass from Taylor Burke.
Gatineau scored the game's first goal, at 13:40 when defenseman Nicolas Deslauriers netted his fifth of the season. Adam Janosik and Yoan Pinette got the assists on the only goal of the first period.
The Juniors will play again Sunday afternoon at the Verdun Auditorium, when they host the Drummondville's Voltigeurs at 3 PM.
