Montreal Juniors News Release

AUDITORIUM DE VERDUN, November 14, 2010 - Scoring three goals in a very short time, early in the second period, was enough for the Montreal Juniors. And then Philippe Fontaine scored two in the third, and Montral who got easily rid of the Drummondville Voltigeurs by the score of 5-1.

The Juniors now show a 16-4-2-1 record while Drummondville's loss puts them at 17-7-2-1.

The Junior went out ahead early in the second period, when Jrmy Gouchie scored his seventh of the year, Trevor Parkes and Xavier Ouellet doing much of the work on the play. Nicolas Chouinard then scored his 11th of the year 70 seconds later, right after a very nice exchange between Louis Leblanc and Ouellet with a man advantage, at 6:05.

Phillipe Lefebvre also scored his 11th goal three minutes later, Gouchie and Parks getting the assists while the Voltigeurs seemed to be disorganized in their zone.

Fontaine took away any chances to Drummondville early in the third period, making it 4-0 with the help of Francis Meilleur and Jonathan Narbonne. Fontaine made it a laugher at 5:34 when he took a superb pass from defenseman Matt Provost and made it 5-0 on a breakaway. Drummondville's only goal went to Jean-Philippe Mathieu (5).

The first period ended with no team capable to light the scoreboard, altough the play was well executed. Drummondville goalie Guillaume Nadeau stopped 10 shots while his counterpart Jean-Franois Brub pushed eight shots away.

Montreal skaters will now have a short break, playing their next game in Baie-Comeau on Friday, at 7:30 PM. The Juniors will then play the first of six games away from Verdun Auditorium, a stretch that will end on December the 3rd.
