Juice Unable To Secure Series Win Vs. Music

Bradenton Juice News Release


Macon, GA- Looking for the series win on Saturday night the Bradenton Juice fell to the Macon Music 12-2 at Luther Williams Field. The game was scoreless through the first four innings but Macon pounded out 12 runs over four innings to knock off the Juice.

The Music got the scoring started in the 5th inning when Carlos Arroyo led off by drawing a walk and then Dorian Rojas doubled to right field. With Scott Robinson at the plate Arroyo scored on a wild pitch and then Robinson hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Rojas giving the Music a 2-0 lead.

Macon tacked on a run in the 6th with Travis Wiley leading off with a single and after he stole second base Nick Utley singled to left field plating Wiley giving the Music a 3-0 advantage.

The Top of the 7th was not kind to the Juice as Macon broke open the game scoring 7 runs on 7 hits including 2 doubles and 5 singles.

Bradenton started its scoring in the Bottom of the 7th when Drew York led off with a walk and two batters later Willie James had an infield single. Then Luke Barganier drew a walk and then Al Corbeil hit a sacrifice fly to left field plating York cutting the Macon lead to 10-1.

The Music added two insurance runs in the 8th with Chris Colton leading off with a single and then Felipe Del Rosario lifted a two-run homerun over the right field wall putting Macon on top 12-1.

The Juice added their final run in the 9th with Jean Castro starting the inning by getting hit by a pitch and then Luke Barganier grounded into a fielder's choice. With Eddie Kim at the plate Barganier advanced to second base on a wild pitch and then Kim walked. The next batter Julius Thames hit a ball that was booted by the second baseman, Barganier scored on the error putting Bradenton behind 12-2.

Lavelle Morgan (5-5) took the loss for Bradenton going 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs (all earned) on 4 hits, walking 3 and striking out 5 batters.

Nick Utley (3-1) picked up the victory going 6 innings allowing 0 runs on 2 hits, walking 3 and striking out 4 Juice batters.

After the loss Bradenton falls to 9-8 in the second half and 33-28 overall while Macon improves to 8-7 in the second half and 38-22 overall.

The Juice will try and get back to their winning ways when they head to the friendly confines of the Charlotte Sports Park to start a three game series with the Charlotte County Redfish on Monday at 7:05.
