Juice Shutout for Second Straight Night

June 20, 2007 - Albany, GA- The Bradenton Juice got shutout for the second consecutive night on Wednesday night as the Juice lost 2-0 to the South Georgia Peanuts. The game was the first of a doubleheader consisting of two 7-inning games but game one was called after six innings due to rain. Game two will be made up on a later date.

South Georgia scored both of its runs in the fourth inning with Jon Zeringue leading off and he drew a walk and two batters later Nick Prosise singled to left field. Two batters later pinch hitter Tug Gillingham walked to load the bases. The next batter Chris Demons walked to drive in Zeringue from third base. Joey Hooft followed with a single to right field that drove home Nick Prosise making it 2-0 Peanuts.

For Bradenton Lavelle Morgan (3-2) started and took the loss pitching 6 innings, allowing 2 runs, walking 4 and striking out 4. Jake Upwood (1-0) gets the win in relief for the Peanuts going 2 innings, allowing no runs on no hits, walking 0 and striking out 3.

Bradenton is now 16-11 while South Georgia improves to 19-8.
