
Juice Fall To Music In Middle Game Of Series

Macon, GA- The Bradenton Juice went after the series win on Friday night vs. the Macon Music but the stars did not align for the Juice in the Music city as Bradenton fell 8-2. The Juice fell behind early and the Music did not look back en route to evening the series.
Macon got on the scoreboard early with three runs in the Top of the 1st. Carlos Arroyo led off the game with a single to right field and Dorian Rojas followed with a walk. Up next Scott Robinson hit into a fielder's choice and then Casey Garrison smacked a single to center field scoring Arroyo giving the Music a 1-0 lead. Then the newly acquired Chris Colton reached base on an error and then Junior Kelley reached base on a Juice error that Robinson and Garrison scored on giving Macon a 3-0 advantage.
The Music added two more runs in the 5th when Carlos Arroyo led off with a double and two batters later Scott Robinson drew a walk. Then Casey Garrison hit a ball that ricocheted off the leg of pitcher Rocky Collis and ended up in right field scoring Arroyo and Robinson putting the Music on top 5-0.
Macon added two more runs in the Top of the 6th with Travis Wiley hitting a one-out single and after Wiley stole second base Ashley Hooks followed with a single that drove in Wiley. Hooks advanced to second base on the throw home and then Carlos Arroyo singled to center field before Dorian Rojas hit a sacrifice fly to right field plating Hooks.
The Juice got on the board in the Bottom of the 6th with Willie James hitting a leadoff single and then Luke Barganier hit his third double in the last two games that James scored on cutting the Music lead to 7-1. Julius Thames followed with a single and then Al Corbeil singled back up the middle scoring Barganier putting the Juice behind 7-2.
Macon tacked on another run in the 7th when Junior Kelley hit a one-out double and then Felipe Del Rosario hit a single to right field scoring Kelley putting Macon up 8-2.
Rocky Collis (3-6) started and took the loss for the Juice going 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 4 hits, walking 4 and striking out 2 batters.
Ashley Hooks (4-1) got the win for Macon after pitching 6 innings, allowing 2 runs (all earned) on 7 hits, walking 0 and striking out 4 batters.
Jason Lowey picked up his first save for Macon by pitching the last three innings.
Of note for the Juice Al Corbeil went 2-5 with 2 singles and an RBI.
Bradenton is now 9-7 in the second half of the season and 33-27 overall while Macon improves to 7-7 in the second half and 36-23 overall.
The Juice will send Lavelle Morgan (5-4) to the mound on Saturday who is coming off a win against South Georgia on July 23 after allowing no runs on 2 hits in 7 innings against the top team in the South Coast League.
