
Jr Blues Sweep the Wilderness

The Jr Blues get the weekend sweep over the Minnesota Wilderness with a 7-4 victory on Saturday night.
The Jr Blues scored early and often starting with a Trevor Stone goal off of assists from Kyle Meeh and Jeff Skinner at the 0:11 mark in the 1st period. Barely over a minute later, Petr Kuznetsov followed with a goal of his own of assists from Brady Tomlak and Coale Norris to push the lead to 2-0. 19 seconds after that Danny DiGrande would find the back of the net off the assist from Matt Long to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Wilderness scored two goals to start off the second period but then the Jr Blues answered with two of their own. The first was a Brennan Blaszczak goal off assists from Long and DiGrande. The second was a goal from Long off assists from DiGrande and Nappier to bring the score to 5-2. The Wilderness would cut the lead to 5-4 but then Skinner scored off assists from Stone and Cody Lichtenvoort. Brady Tomlak would add an empty net goal off the assist form Norris to give the game a final score of 7-4.
The Jr Blues are home again next weekend for a two game set against the Topeka Roadrunners. Friday night there will be a pennant giveaway from Sangamon CEO. Saturday night is Scout Night with a merit badge giveaway from Lee O'Keefe Insurance Agency.
