
JP France Named Triple A West July Pitcher of the Month

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - Minor League Baseball today announced that Sugar Land Skeeters right-hander JP France was named the Triple A West Pitcher of the Month for July.
France finished the month 3-0 with a 2.39 ERA in five games (three starts), striking out 29 batters in 26 1/3 innings pitched. He set the Skeeters season high with 10 strikeouts in a relief appearance on July 10 vs. Tacoma. He struck out a total of 19 batters through his first two July appearances (10.2 IP).
The 26-year-old was promoted to the Skeeters from Double A Corpus Christi on June 22. France ranks second of Houston Astros minor leaguers with a combined 96 strikeouts on the season.
The Astros selected France in the 14th round of the 2018 MLB Draft from Mississippi State University.
France becomes the second Skeeters player to be awarded Triple A West Pitcher of the Month honors. Brett Conine was named the Triple A West May Pitcher of the Month.
