
Jova, Ruwe Send Skyhawks To 9-6 Win

AUGUSTA, N.J. - Maikel Jova went 2-for-5 with three RBI, and Kyle Ruwe held New Hampshire to three runs on three hits through seven innings, as the Sussex Skyhawks topped the American Defenders 9-6 on Tuesday night at Skylands Park.
Jova's two run-home run in the bottom of the first was his 100th hit of the season.
The Skyhawks used a balanced attack, taking advantage of 11 walks. Each Sussex starter scored a run on the night.
Ruwe walked three and struck out four to pick up his seventh win of the season. Sandy Nin worked the ninth to pick up his ninth save. Francisco Cervantes gave up four runs on four hits and seven walks in three innings to take the loss. Cervantes did not return to the mound after a 31-minute rain delay.
Jabe Bergeron smacked a two run home run in the third for New Hampshire.
Sussex and New Hampshire return to Skylands Park on Wednesday morning for an 11:05 a.m. game.
