Josh Nolz Named to USL First Division Team of the Week

June 9, 2005 - USL First Division (USL-1) - Virginia Beach Mariners News Release


Tampa, Florida - Virginia Beach Mariners' midfielder Josh Nolz was chosen to the USL First Division Team of the Week for his assist in the Mariners' 2-1 loss to Seattle on June 4. Nolz sent a ball in towards the goal that forward Warren Ukah shot past Seattle keeper Preston Burpo. It was the first goal scored on Burpo this season.

Nolz, a 2002 Virginia Wesleyan graduate, was named to the 1999, 2001 and 2002 All-ODAC Team. He joined the Mariners in 2004.

The Mariners return to the field on June 24 when the team hosts Atlanta at the Sportsplex at 8 p.m. The match will be televised nationally on Fox Soccer Channel.

Tickets are $10 for ages 8 & up and children age 7 and under are free. Groups of 20 or more get in for $8.
