Harrisburg Senators News Release

On Thursday night in Trenton, the Harrisburg Senators rallied late for a 3-2 win over Trenton. The Sens take the series from Trenton winning the final two games of the three-game series, and head to Altoona to face the Curve with a 36-28 record. With the loss, Trenton falls to 39-27.

After a rough first inning that saw Trenton score two runs, Sens starter, Tanner Roark (4-2), settled in and pitched 6 quality innings. He allowed only three hits after the first inning, until Jimmy Barthmaier came on in relief in the seventh.

The Senators' Steve Lombardozzi started off the game with a single then scored the first run of the game for the Sens after a triple by Tyler Moore. The Senators would not strike again until the seventh inning when Thunder reliever, Pat Venditte replaced starter Craig Heyer. Trailing 2-1, Jonathan Tucker singled for the Senators, and advanced to second base on a balk. Lombardozzi singled, and Josh Johnson doubled, scoring both runners and giving the Senators a 3-2 lead.

The Senators bullpen was flawless, pitching the final three innings, with a combined four strikeouts and allowing no hits with the help of Barthmaier, Patrick McCoy, and Rafael Martin. Martin's perfect ninth earned him the save.

The Senators head to Altoona to take on the Curve for a three-game series starting Friday night. RH Eric Davis is expected to take the mound for the Senators and RH Aaron Pribanic is on the hill for Altoona. Game time on Friday is 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone at 6:50 p.m.
