Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) - In just his 12th game with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, Jose Siri left the ballpark for the eighth time.
Siri delivered a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth inning of the Space Cowboys series opener Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.
The go-ahead shot from Siri did not hold up for the Space Cowboys, though, losing to Oklahoma City 5-4 on a walk-off wild pitch in the 10th inning.
Yainer Diaz delivered the Space Cowboys' first run of the night with a line-drive homer in the seventh to cut the Oklahoma City lead to 3-1. Diaz's homer, which registered an exit velocity of 102.2 mph, was his eighth with the Space Cowboys and 17th overall of the season. The home run matched his career high, set in 2021. Diaz finished the night 2-for-4 with a double to go with the solo shot.
Oklahoma City tied the game at 4-4 in the ninth on an RBI double from Miguel Vargas. Jason Martin scored on a wild pitch in the 10th for the walk-off win. Ryan Noda helped lead the Oklahoma City offense, hitting a two-run homer in the sixth - his 14th of the year.
Brandon Bielak started for the Space Cowboys, allowing a run on four hits through five innings while striking out four. JP France came on in a piggyback relief effort and struck out six through 3 2/3 innings. France now leads the Pacific Coast League with 103 strikeouts.
The Space Cowboys and Dodgers continue their series at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday. The Space Cowboys have yet to name a starter, with Andre Jackson scheduled to start for Oklahoma City.
