Jose Luis Real Casillas Named Chivas Guadalajara Head Coach

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, November 25, 2013) -Club Deportivo Guadalajara S.A. de C.V. announced today the appointment of Jose Luis Real Casillas as the Head Coach for the First Team. Prior to this appointment, Real was at the helm of Chivas USA during the second part of the 2013 Major League Soccer season.

With Real's return to lead Guadalajara's First Team, Chivas USA are currently evaluating replacements for the former manager to lead the MLS side. The new head coach will be named in the near future.

Real was introduced as Chivas USA Head Coach on May 29, 2013, as the replacement of then Head Coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola. Real's mission was to set the foundation and the groundwork to a project that seeks to have the Red-and-White back toward the top of the MLS standings.

In 21 games leading the Goats, Coach Real and his group were able to record three victories and six draws, while implementing a more organized and structured style of play that will set the standard and system on the pitch ahead of the Rebaño Angelino's 2014 campaign.

His commitment to developing the youth was also evident with a Chivas USA team filled of young talents. Throughout his time in Los Angeles, Real showed full confidence in the rising stars, allowing five players from the current 17-man roster make their professional debut.

For his dedication and work, Chivas USA thank Coach Jose Luis Real Casillas and wish him the best of luck in this new position within the Red-and-White organization.
