Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON, Michigan (April 2nd) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that Goaltender Jordan Uhelski has made his college commitment to play for the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers out of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) beginning in the 2014-15 season.
Uhelski, the Flint, Michigan native, is currently in his second season with the Lumberjacks and has posted a 10-8-4 record in 26 appearances to go along with a 3.23 goals-against average and .890 save percentage. During his two-year stint in Muskegon, Uhelski has appeared in 45 games while compiling a 17-13-8 record to go along with a 3.23 goals-against average, a .898 save percentage, and two shutouts that came last season on December 8th, 2012 and February 9th, 2013 at home against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Indiana Ice, respectively.
"I chose to play for Alabama-Huntsville due to the fact that not only is it a great opportunity to play hockey at the next level, but it's a great academic opportunity as well," said Uhelski. "I believe in what the coaching staff is trying to accomplish there as they try to rebuild their program and am excited to be a part of it."
Prior to joining the Lumberjacks in September of 2012, Uhelski spent two seasons with the Belle Tire Midget Major Team from 2010-12 appearing in 50 total games while recording a record of 23-16 to go along with a 2.54 goals-against average, a .903 save percentage, and eight shutouts.
