Central Valley Coyotes News Release

(Fresno, CA) - The Central Valley Coyotes QB Scott Rislov and WR/DB LaMonte Jones earn "First Team All-af2" honors while Vai Nota and Dwane Tauiliili earn "Second Team All-af2"honors.

Scott Rislov, in his rookie season, led the Central Valley Coyotes to the best record (12-4) in franchise history and the teams first ever playoff appearance. Rislov also set the "All Time" Arena Football Touchdown Passing record passing for 106 touchdowns, the previous record was 105. Rislov ended the season connecting on 371 of 568 passes for 4,446 yards and finished with a passer rating of 120.64. He finished the season ranked 1st for pass completions, 3rd in passer efficiency and passing yards. The Coyotes Rislov led offense ended the season 4th in total offense, and 5th in both Scoring offense and passing offense. "His near 10 to 1 touchdown to interception ration and our 87.3 Red Zone scoring percentage are the statistics that mean the most for the quarterback position in arena football," stated head coach Fred Biletnikoff Jr. "He absolutely dominated this league in both of those categories."

LaMonte Jones, one of Rislov's favorite targets, also received first team honors. Jones, who is one of the original Coyotes from 2004, holds the Coyotes "All-Time Reception" record with 226 catches; he caught 107 of those in 2006. Jones ended the season with 1419 receiving yards, 40 touchdowns, and a receiving average of 94.6 yards a game. Jones also had 3 interceptions on defense and scored 2 touchdowns on kick off returns. "Lamonte never gave up through all the adversity here since 2004. It's great knowing that his hard work has paid off and he is considered among the best players in this league this year," said Biletnikoff.

Two other Coyotes earned 2nd team mentions, FB/LB Vai Nota and OLS Dwane Tauiliili. Biletnikoff proudly stated, "We were very fortunate to have had both of these players back with us this year. Vai has been an outstanding player in this league for 3 years now and I hope the AFL takes a good look at him, he won't disappoint whoever signs him, I guarantee that!" Nota rushed for 108 yards, scored 3 touchdowns, recorded 10.5 tackles and blocking 3 kicks. Tauiliili earned his honors by anchoring the offensive line that enabled Rislov to throw his record setting 106 touchdowns. Tauiliili only gave up 2 sacks the entire season from the center position. "This was his first year ever playing the center position. Two years ago he was playing semi-pro football for the Fresno Redhawks and now he's ALL af2! He's a sleeper that is no longer a secret. The attention he is getting from many AFL teams is well deserved," added Biletnikoff.
