
Jonathan Hefney Named Top Rookie In East Division

WINNIPEG, MB - Winnipeg Blue Bombers halfback Jonathan Hefney has been chosen as the East Division nominee for the Most Outstanding Rookie.
Hefney will be up against running back Martell Mallet of the B.C. Lions for league honours.
The rookie out of the University of Tennessee started at halfback in all 18 games this season for the Blue Bombers, amassing 66 defensive tackles, four interceptions and five special teams tackles in his first CFL campaign.
Yesterday, Hefney was also named a CFL East Division All-Star.
The winners will be announced at the 2009 Gibson's Finest CFL Player Awards show during Grey Cup week in Calgary on Thursday, November 26 at the TELUS Convention Centre.
