Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS - Rangers President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Jon Daniels will join Nathan Barnett on the Frisco RoughRiders' telecast on Fox Sports Southwest on Monday, May 23. Air time is 11 a.m. for the 11:05 a.m. scheduled first pitch between the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, and the San Antonio Missions (San Diego Padres) at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Rangers right-handed pitching prospect Luis Ortiz will be making his Double-A debut.
Daniels is in his 11th season as the Rangers General Manager, the longest tenure in team history, and was promoted to President, Baseball Operations & General Manager in March 2013. Under Daniels' leadership, the Rangers have advanced to the postseason four times in the last six years, the most playoff appearances ever for a Texas General Manager. Daniels was also selected as the 2011 Major League Executive of the Year by the Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
The game on Monday morning is the third of the eight-game slate for the Riders on Fox Sports Southwest, the second-largest in market size and viewership in the FSN group and the television home of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars.
