Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, will hold their first ever Summer Fan Fest at the Verizon Wireless Arena from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23. Fans of all ages are invited to join the Monarchs as they celebrate the summer in style!
It's the halfway point until the Monarchs embark on their 11th season in the American Hockey League. The plaza of the Verizon Wireless Arena will be turned into a carnival-like atmosphere with inflatable bounce houses, a dunk tank, photo opportunities with Max, games with former Monarchs players and a blowout sidewalk sale at the Monarchs Pro Shop featuring equipment, jerseys, T-shirts, hats and much more!
A portion of Elm Street, from Lake Avenue to Harry Theo Lane, will also be blocked off for Manchester's largest Street Hockey Tournament! Four divisions compiled of eight teams each will play a three-game, round-robin style tournament. The top four teams in each division will then compete in the playoffs for their shot at the championship. Games will be comprised of two, seven minute halves. "We're thrilled to bring Monarchs Country together during the summer to celebrate the team and have some fun in the sun," exclaimed Monarchs President Darren Abbott. "This is our first ever summer event and we look forward to seeing our fans and crowning a street hockey champion!"
In addition, fans can ride the Roaming Railroad around the arena and see the #83 Monarchs Machine Race Car from Green Motorsports. Former and current Monarchs players will play games with fans and even take turns being dunked in the dunk tank! A full list of players will be announced at a later date.
Fans will have the opportunity to select seats for the 2011-12 season with packages starting as low as one game per month! The Monarchs regular season schedule will be announced in August. For ticket information, visit www.manchestermonarchs.com or call (603) 626-7825.
