Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Maryland Black Bears Saturday night in exciting fashion with a 3-2 win.
Braedon Ford opened the scoring Saturday night with his seventh goal of the season and second of the weekend. Elliott Lareau tied up the game for Maryland with one second remaining on their power play, sending the game to the 2nd period with the game knotted at one.
Ryan Bottrill gave Maryland the lead 4:53 into the middle frame, but Johnstown responded with a goal from Frank Jenkins to knot things back up at 2. Despite multiple chances and ten shots on goal, the Tomahawks were unable to regain the lead before time expired, sending the game to the 3rd period tied 2-all.
After a long, hard fought 3rd period, Jake Black came away with the game winning goal with just 1:44 to go in regulation, giving the Tomahawks a 3-2 win Saturday night, closing out the homestand against the Maryland Black Bears.
Up next, the Tomahawks are headed to Attleboro to face off against the Northeast Generals Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6.
