
Johnstown Tomahawks Defenseman Michal Capos Signs Professional Contract with HC Nové Zámky

The Johnstown Tomahawks proudly announce that defenseman Michal Capos, a Western Michigan University commit, has signed a professional hockey contract with HC Nové Zámky in Slovakia's Tipos Extraliga.
The Tipos Extraliga represents the highest level of professional ice hockey in Slovakia. Known for its competitive play and history of developing elite talent, the league is a proving ground for players aspiring to advance their careers in European hockey and beyond.
Standing at 6'4", Capos brought a strong physical presence and defensive reliability to the Tomahawks' blue line. During the 2024-2025 Johnstown, Capos appeared in 21 games. The Slovakia native recently represented his country at the U18 5 Nations Tournament.
Capos will now join HC Nové Zámky for the remainder of the season, furthering his development as a player while competing at the professional level. Additionally, Capos was recently named to the NHL's Central Scouting Players to Watch List for the 2025 NHL Draft, highlighting his potential as a top prospect.
