The Johnstown Chiefs (27-16-5; 59 PTS; 5th Northern div.) fell to fifth place in the Northern division as they went 1-1-0 last week. The Chiefs won in overtime on Friday and traveled to Reading on Saturday, suffering a 6-1 loss. The Chiefs will have four games this week, all at home. Monday and Tuesday they host the Peoria Rivermen in the rescheduled February 6th and 7th games. Saturday night, the Chiefs will host the Trenton Titans and Sunday afternoon the Dayton Bombers. The Chiefs trail fourth place Reading by just two points.

GAME #47 (2/13/04) Johnstown 4 - TOLEDO 3 (OT) Irbe 29 Saves

Larry Courville scored with 1:19 remaining in overtime to the lead the Johnstown Chiefs to a 4-3 win over the Toledo Storm, Friday night at the Toledo Sports Arena. Chiefs goaltender Arturs Irbe made his first start since November 28th making 29 saves for his ninth win of the season. P.L. Courchesne led the Chiefs with a pair of goals and an assist. Dominic Forget also scored for Johnstown, while Steve Hildenbrand added a pair of assists. Toledo got a pair of goals from Peter Flache, while Rick Judson also scored. Toledo goaltender Doug Teskey made 38 saves.

GAME #48 (2/14/04) READING 6 - Johnstown 1 Zehr Lone Johnstown Goal

Despite Jeff Zehr's goal 0:25 into the game, the Chiefs could not muster up any offense, losing to the Reading Royals 6-1, Saturday night at the Sovereign Center. Kent Davyduke had three goals in the contest for Reading. Chiefs goaltender David Currie suffered the loss making 21 saves. The Chiefs out shot the Royals 41-27. Reading goaltender Peter Hamerlik made 40 saves in the win.

The Chiefs and Peoria Rivermen (29-12-8, 66 PTS; 3rd Northern div.) will finally meet for their final two regular season games. The two games were originally scheduled for February 6th and 7th but were postponed due to structural damage at the War Memorial Arena. The Chiefs are 3-1-2 against the Rivermen this season and 20-27-5 all-time. The Rivermen have won four straight games and are 7-2-1 in their last ten games.

Saturday night, the Chiefs will host the Trenton Titans (24-18-5, 53 PTS; 6th Northern div.). The Chiefs are 2-1-0 against Trenton this season and 8-14-2. This first meeting at the War Memorial this season between the two teams. The Titans are 6-3-1 in their last ten games.

The Chiefs will close out the week Sunday afternoon when they host the Dayton Bombers (18-27-5, 41 PTS; 9th Northern div.). The Chiefs are 4-3-0 against the Bombers this season and 43-45-8 all-time.

CHIEFS NOTES:

- Goaltender David Currie suffered his first loss since December 30th (9 starts) in Saturday night's 6-1 defeat in Reading.

- 14 of Jay Langager's 20 assists have come on the power play.

- Jeff Sullivan has recorded at least one penalty in 38 of 47 games played this season.

- Arturs Irbe is fourth in the ECHL with a 0.931 save percentage.
