Joey Tavernese to join Silver Knights to make final push for playoffs

SYRACUSE, New York - Tommy Tanner is excited about his newest addition to the Silver Knights roster and is ready to make some statement wins this weekend. Today the Silver Knights are pleased to announce to signing of Forward, Joey Tavernese. Tavernese has spent previous seasons with the Rochester Lancers, and has been a part of the Ontario Fury this season.
In 4 games with the Fury this season Tavernese has 1 goal and 3 assists. Last season with the Rochester Lancers Tavernese was a force on the offensive end every game. In just 20 games with the Lancers Tavernese tallied 26 goals at 15 assists, including 7 goals and 6 assists against the Silver Knights.
"Joey is a proven goal scorer in this league. He brings a ton of experience at target and that is something we are looking for to make a deep run at playoffs." Said Tommy Tanner Thursday morning. "He creates a lot of dangerous chances in front of goal, creates free kicks, an goal scoring opportunities. He's played with and against a lot of the guys on the team already so he should gel quickly with everyone here."
Joey will join fellow former Lancers Tim Crawford (1,0), Gary Boughton (1,1), and Jake Schindler (1 goal, 8 blocks). Having played with several former Lancers and playing against the Silver Knights in years past Tommy believes that Joey will fit right into the Knights right away and make a contribution.
Joey will suit up for the Silver Knights for the first time this weekend while the team travels to St Louis for a Friday morning matchup at 12pm EST, and Saturday against the Cedar Rapids Rampage at 8pm EST.
