Fury Deal Tavernese to Syracuse

Ontario Fury News Release
The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, have traded forward Joey Tavernese to the Syracuse Silver Knights in exchange for cash and other future considerations.
Tavernese played in four games with the Fury, scoring one goal and adding three assists. Originally from Garden City, N.Y., Tavernese's time in Ontario was limited due to a groin injury that left him on the sidelines. Ontario signed Tavernese after Hartford FC ceased operations before the season started. He played for the Rochester Lancers in 2014-15.
"Joey had expressed an interest in returning closer to home, and with the growth of the talent base here in the Inland Empire, we were felt comfortable in helping him with that request," said Fury president and coach Bernie Lilavois. "We're very happy with the way Joey contributed while in Ontario. And I know that we have the talent locally that will be able to fill Joey's role."
Ontario left Thursday for Dallas to start a four-game road trip against the Sidekicks at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The Fury will then travel to Chicago for a game Sunday against the Mustangs.
The Fury will return to Citizens Business Bank Arena at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 against the Sacramento Surge, the first of a two-game weekend at home for the Fury, with Ontario hosting the San Diego Sockers at 3 p.m. Jan. 31.
The Jan. 29 game will be Scout Night, with special promotions available for all Scouts in attendance. It will also be Teddy Bear Toss night, with all fans encouraged to bring stuffed animals to throw onto the field after the Fury's first goal of the game. All the stuffed animals will be collected and given to local charities for distribution.
On Jan. 31, the Fury will be auctioning off their game-worn jerseys to benefit the Casa Colina Hospitals and Centers for Healthcare. The first 2,000 fans at both games will receive a series of collectible player cards courtesy of Voice Marketing of Rancho Cucamonga.
