Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD (May 17, 2006) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that Head Coach Dave Joerger will not return to the sidelines next season. Joerger's previous two-year contract expired on March 31st and he recently decided not to return to Sioux Falls.
"We made a contract offer almost two months ago and hadn't received an answer," said Skyforce co-owner Mike Heineman. "We've been preparing for him to leave, one way or another. We've been researching other coaches for about two months now."
The 'Force will now focus on hiring a head coach to guide them in their first season in the NBA Development League. "The D-League has a list of coaching candidates and we have already had access to that list," said Heineman. "There's no doubt that we're going to end up with a quality coach."
