Arkansas RimRockers News Release

Little Rock, AR. Otis Birdsong, Arkansas Rimrockers President and GM has named Joe Harge as Head Coach for the ABA expansion team beginning play in November. According to Birdsong, "We got the man we wanted and we know we're on our way to a winning team."

Harge is a former Oregon State standout who the played in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers and Denver Nuggets as well as seven teams in Europe. Becoming a Head Coach for the first time, Harge has been the assistant coach at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is the son of former NBA and original ABA player, Ira Harge.

Harge commented, "This is a great organization with outstanding people involved. I saw the resumes of dozens of applicants for the job as Head Coach. I am honored that Mr. Crain and Otis selected me - and you can bet I'll do everything I can to justify their confidence in me. That starts with putting together a winning team - and from the inquiries we're getting from players, I know we can do it."
