Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
Charleston, WV (February 6, 2009) - The West Virginia Power will conduct their annual Job Fair on Saturday, February 21st from 10 am - 2 pm in Macy's Court at the Charleston Town Center. Available jobs include all game day positions ranging from ticket takers to concessions to mascots. The Power Alley Grill will also be hiring servers, hosts/hostesses and cooks for the spring and summer months. The Job Fair will provide applicants the opportunity to not only fill out an application but have an on-the-spot interview as well.
"We're looking for dedicated, hardworking individuals who will provide service with a smile," said Joe Payne, General Manager. "This is a fun atmosphere and we want employees who can have a good time while still working hard."
Immediately following the job fair the Power will host performer tryouts from 2 pm - 3 pm, also in Macy's Court at the Charleston Town Center. Registration will begin at 1 pm. The performer tryouts will give a voice to those wishing to perform at Appalachian Power Park this season. Openings are available for the National Anthem as well as pre-game performances by bands and other musical groups. Bands are encouraged to drop off a demo CD.
"Last year we stepped up our game from an entertainment standpoint and a big part of that was incorporating the talented individuals in the community. We are looking forward to continuing that enthusiasm and energy this season. Appalachian Power Park is a great atmosphere and we will continue to give local bands and entertainers an outlet in which to share their talent." stated Kristin Call, Director of Marketing. Â Â
