Kitchener Rangers News Release
The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Kitchener Rangers winger and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Jeremy Bracco has been named the Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 16 after recording an impressive four goals and nine assists for 13 points in just four games played with a plus-2 rating.
Bracco has registered at least a point in all six games he's played for the Rangers this season, upping his season point total to 17 (6G, 11A).
The 19-year-old from Freeport, NY began the week with a five-point performance (3G, 2A) on Monday at the Aud when the Rangers handed the Guelph Storm an 8-4 loss on Thanksgiving Monday. He followed that up with a goal and two assists on Friday night in a 6-2 win over the Saginaw Spirit. Bracco rounded out the 3-in-3 weekend with three assists in Owen Sound on Saturday night versus the Attack, and a pair of assists in Guelph in a 3-2 win over the Storm on Sunday afternoon.
In his second season with the Rangers, he follows up a campaign which saw him register 21 goals and 43 assists for 64 points in just 49 regular season games. His three goals and five total points on Friday against the Spirit were both his first career OHL hat trick, and a career high in points in a single game. He is currently tied for third in OHL scoring.
Bracco's early season point totals have helped him guide the Rangers to a 6-2-0-1 record through their first nine games, which sees them atop the Midwest Division standings and currently second in the western conference.
