
Jeenathan Williams Earns Call-Up with Portland Trail Blazers

SALT LAKE CITY - The Portland Trail Blazers announced today the team has signed Salt Lake City Stars guard Jeenathan Williams to a two-year contract.
During the 2022-23 NBA G League Regular Season, Williams appeared in 32 games (28 starts) averaging 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game while shooting 52.3 percent from the field and 42.0 percent from deep.
Williams gave an impressive rookie season, including a career-high 28-point performance on Dec. 30, against the Mexico City Capitanes, and secured a double-double as he grabbed a personal best 12 boards paired with 17 points, on Feb. 4 against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers
The former young Stars guard joins the Trail Blazers after a G League playoff run, as Salt Lake City fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the first round on Tuesday, Mar. 28.
The call-up is the second of the season for the Stars and the ninth since the team moved to Salt Lake City prior to the 2016-17 season.
