Ralston, NE - Omaha Lancers first-year forward JC MacLean announced his commitment to play collegiate ice hockey at Clarkson University following his junior career. The Golden Knights, located out of Potsdam, New York, finished the season fifth in the ECAC. MacLean becomes the 19th member of this year's end-of-season roster to be committed.

"It feels great to be given the opportunity to play at Clarkson University. I'm extremely honored and humbled," said MacLean. "It was an easy choice because of their amazing coaching staff, the way they play the game, and the academic opportunity at the school. Every single person I met wanted me to come to their program."

This past season was MacLean's first with the Omaha Lancers. He posted four goals and nine assists for 13 total points in 55 games played. Arguably, MacLean's best game came in just his fourth regular season contest with the Lancers. The 6-foot-2, 208-pound forward posted three assists in a 6-1 victory on the road over the Des Moines Buccaneers on October 4th.

MacLean scored his first USHL goal on October 30th in a victory over the Madison Capitols. After receiving a pass in the right wing circle, MacLean lifted the puck over the left shoulder of Capitols goaltender Garrett Metcalf just under the cross bar for the eventual game-winner. Another notable performance came in back-to-back games as MacLean scored on the road in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.

Prior to coming to Omaha, the New Jersey native played one season for the Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League where he scored nine goals and added five assists. MacLean's three goals and three assists in the playoffs helped the Bruins march all the way to the Robertson Cup Final in an eventual loss to the Minnesota Wilderness.

"We couldn't be more thrilled for JC to get this well-deserved opportunity," said Lancers head coach Brian Kaufman. "On and off the ice all season long, JC had a big impact on our organization. He's a very smart individual and Clarkson University is an amazing fit for him athletically and academically."

This season, the Clarkson University Golden Knights finished with an ECAC record of 10-9-3 and an overall record of 20-15-3. After posting two overtime victories over Princeton in the ECAC Tournament, Clarkson's season came to an end in a pair of 3-2 overtime losses to St. Lawrence.

"I can't thank the Omaha Lancers staff and my teammates enough," MacLean finished. "Everyone involved was very instrumental with all the developing this past year both on and off the ice."
