Jays to host "Overnight in the Park"

Dunedin, FL - On May 9th, the Blue Jays will host "Overnight in the Park," an event that will allow local Girl and Boy Scout troops the opportunity to spend the night at Dunedin Stadium.

The game will start at 7 p.m., and when the gates open at 6 p.m., those who have pre-registered for the event will be able to sign-in near the Blue Jays ticket office outside of the front gate until 7:30 p.m.

There will also be a pre-game parade of the Scouts at 6:30 p.m., so any Scout troops interested in being a part of the parade is being asked to show up at the first-base gate before the parade begins.

After the Blue Jays take on the Tampa Yankees, the field will be packed with tents of all the various Scout troops who will take their spot on the field for a night full of fun activities.

Those who are interested in participated are being asked to review the guidelines that are provided in the link to the right that says, "2009 Scout Sleepover Guidelines." There is a waiver at the bottom of the document that will need to be filled out and brought to check-in.

Tickets for the event are $8 for a game ticket and ball park meal and $13 for the game ticket, ball park meal and sleepover ticket. Sleepover tickets will not be sold the day of the game.
