Dunedin Blue Jays News Release

DUNEDIN, FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays (15-8) avoided a sweep at the hands of the Bradenton Marauders (11-12) with a 5-3 win on Saturday night. RHP Conor Fisk (W, 5-2) supplied six innings of three run baseball to earn the win. LF Chris Colabello went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his fourth appearance for Dunedin.

SS Richard Urena started the scoring in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run to right field. Bradenton inched back with a RF Michael Suchy solo long ball in the third, then a sac fly by 3B Connor Joe tied it in the fourth.

The Jays jumped back into the lead half an inning later when starter RHP Yeudy Garcia (L, 4-6) walked four straight batters and threw a wild pitch to give Dunedin a 4-2 lead.

Bradenton took Fisk for one more run in the fifth and found themselves with two game-tying opportunities thereafter. After a C Taylor Gushue two-out single in the sixth, Connor Joe smacked a double to dead center off the wall. CF Andrew Guillotte tossed a strike to the cutoff man, 2B Dickie Joe Thon, who hit C Danny Jansen to nab Gushue at home plate, ending the inning.

An inning later, RHP Adonys Cardona (H, 7) allowed three singles, but then struck out 2B Kevin Kramer and induced a groundout of DH Chase Simpson to end the threat. LHP Colton Turner (S, 5) retired six of the seven batter he faced to earn the Saturday save.

Dunedin begins another four game series at home on Sunday at 5:00 pm against Charlotte. RHP Francisco Rios opposes the Stone Crabs' RHP Chris Pike.
