Jackson, Tenn. - The Diamond Jaxx (7-9) get their second straight win on Saturday night, taking game one of the series with the Mississippi Braves (8-8) 3-1. In front of 5,157 fans at Pringles Park, LHP Robert Rohrbaugh (1-2) picked up his first win of 2009, dealing six innings, allowing just one run on six hits. It was the second consecutive day a Jaxx starter got through six innings.

The Diamond Jaxx jumped out to an early lead again on Saturday, as Jaxx catcher, Adam Moore hit an infield single to bring in Brent Johnson. In the second inning, Erick Monzon would walk with one out. He stole second base and eventually scored on a wild pitch, manufacturing a 2-0 lead after two.

Mississippi plated a run in the top of the third. Travis Jones led off the inning with a triple off of Rohrbaugh. Gorkys Hernandez singled to left, scoring Jones from third. That was the only run the Braves would score.

The Jaxx manufactured another run in the seventh inning. Javier Brito opened the inning with a base hit, and was pinch run for by Ezequiel Carrera who received his first day off this year. Erick Monzon layed down a sacrifice bunt moving Carrera into scoring position for Jeff Dominguez, who lined a base hit to center scoring Carrera.

Mumba Rivera dealt two scorless innings in the seventh and eighth picking up his second hold of the year. Josh Fields closed it out in the ninth inning striking out the side. Fields picked up his first save of his professional career. The Mariners first round pick last year has not allowed a run in his last five outings and now has struck out14 hitters on the year.

Johnny Venters (0-1) takes the loss for the Braves. Venters pitched well in the loss going five and a third innings, allowing just one earned run on two hits.

Game two of the series is Sunday at 2:05. It is church bulletin Sunday. Fans can show their church bulletin and get a free General Admission ticket at the box office. RHP Justin Souza (0-1, 2.70) will make his first start of the year for the Diamond Jaxx. He will be opposed by RHP Deunte Heath (1-0, 0.56) for the Braves
