Jaxx add OF Gavin Dickey and C Guy Welsh to roster

ZEBULON, NC. (JUNE 14, 2009) - The Seattle Mariners and West Tenn Diamond Jaxx announce the following roster moves.

OF Gavin Dickey has been added to the Diamond Jaxx active roster. He was the Mariners' 12th round selection in the June 2006 draft that is 25 years old. Dickey graduated from Lincoln High School (FL) in May, 2002 and was named the state of Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, named to the Parade All-America Team and named to USA Today's National Super 25 Team. Dickey graduated from the University of Florida in June, 2006 and played football and baseball. Dickey comes by way of High-A, High Desert.

C Guy Welsh has been added to the Diamond Jaxx active roster. He was the Mariners' 18th round selection in the June 2007 First-Year Player Draft and is 24 years old. Welsh graduated from Sabino High School in June, 2003 and graduated from Pima Community College in June, 2005. He attended the University of Carolina, Greensboro in 2006-07. Welsh hit .297 in rookie ball for Pulski last season with 3 HR and 17 RBI, in 45 games. He has only played in one game with High Desert this season. He is joining the Jaxx from Extended Spring in Peoria, AZ.

To make room, the Diamond Jaxx sent RHP Luis Munoz to the Short-A Everett roster and C Colt Morton has been placed on the Restricted List. Colt Morton has not yet played in a game with the Jaxx.
