Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard has announced that OL/DL Jason Hardee (6'3", 300 West Virginia) has signed a deal with the New York Dragons of the AFL. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hardee, an All-American from the University of West Virginia, will offer a wealth of knowledge and experience to the New York Dragons. Hardee played two seasons with the Blizzard and is their all-time leader in sacks.
In 2006, Hardee appeared in 18 games with the Blizzard recording 17.5 tackles and 49 receiving yards on 3 catches.
Hardee, a fan favorite in Green Bay, led the 2007 Blizzard with 8.0 sacks to go along with 21.5 tackles and an interception. On April 27, Hardee recorded 3.0 sacks vs. division rivals, the Quad City Steamwheelers.
In 2006, the Blizzard had 9 players sign contracts with AFL teams. The official AFL signing period started on October 29th. Hardee is the first Blizzard player from the 2007 team to sign a contract with an AFL team but the Blizzard coaching staff expects more players to follow his lead.
