Jason Brown transferred to Double-A Harrisburg

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Trapper Baseball Club announced today that catcher Jason Brown has been transferred to Double-A Harrisburg. Edmonton's roster currently stands at 23 players; 11 pitchers, two catchers, six infielders and four outfielders, plus five players (right-hander Seung Song, infielder Henry Mateo, catcher Randy Knorr, right-hander Christian Parker and infielder Maicer Izturis) on the disabled list.

Brown, 30, was acquired by the Montreal Expos on August 1, 2002 from the Pittsburgh Pirates and split last season between Edmonton, Harrisburg and Single-A Brevard County. He hit .143 (3-for-21) with two RBI in six games with the Trappers this season. Brown was batting .143 (2-for-14) with one home run and one RBI in five games with Harrisburg before being transferred to Edmonton on May 31. Brown started his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, signing as a non-drafted free agent on May 26, 1997. He is a career .240 (349-for-1454) hitter with 31 home runs and 181 RBI in 454 minor league games.

The next Trapper home game will be on Tuesday, June 15 when the club will take on the Tucson Sidewinders. The game will begin at 7:05 PM.
