PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that January 6 will be Mario West Bobblehead Night. The first 1,000 fans will receive the collectible of the popular Maine guard, courtesy of Wright Express.
"In addition to being a fan-favorite and one of the hardest working players on the team, Mario West's name will forever be in the Red Claws' history books as the first player in team history to earn a call-up to the NBA," said Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings. "We wanted to do something that not only the fans would enjoy but that would honor Mario's unique place in Red Claws' history."
RED CLAWS TO HOST IDAHO STAMPEDE, ANTOINE WALKER DEC. 16 & 19: The Red Claws will travel to northwestern Pennsylvania this weekend for a pair of games against East Conference foe the Erie BayHawks. The team will next play at home on Thursday, December 16 and Sunday, December 19 when they host the Idaho Stampede. The Stampede are coached by former Red Claws' assistant coach Randy Livingston. The team made the headlines this week when they acquired former Boston Celtics superstar Antoine Walker. The team's two games at Maine are expected to be Walker's first East Coast appearances. Great seats remain for both games. The team will collect canned goods for the Good Shepherd Food-Bank on the 16th through the Quirk Chevrolet Stuff the Truck campaign. Fans are encouraged to bring canned or other nonperishable food items, and all fans making a donation will be entered to win great prizes from the Red Claws and Quirk Chevrolet.
WEEKEND HOURS FOR RED CLAWS TEAM STORE EXTENDED FOR HOLIDAYS: The Red Claws have extended the weekend hours for the Red Claws Team Store through the holidays. The store, located at 413 Congress Street in Portland, is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM - 6 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM - 4 PM. In addition to Red Claws jerseys, t-shirts, novelties and other items, the store also sells Boston Celtics gear. Merchandise is also available online at www.maineredclawsstore.com.
